hear, listen 的區別是
hear是感官上聽到聲音, 如hear music是聽到有音樂在響
listen 是刻意去聽, listen to music 是欣賞音樂。
同理，I hear you是我聽到你的聲音，I'm listening to you 是我洗耳恭聽
全神傾聽 all ears
Do you feel like telling me what happened last night? I'm all ears / I'm listening.
左耳進, 右耳出 left ear in, right ear out
這句中文傳神又幽默，譯出來也能令老外一笑
Whenever my wife starts grumbling (碎碎唸), I would mentally turn on the "left ear in, right ear out" mode.
As soon as her words reach my left ear, they go directly out of my right ear.
充耳不聞 / 有聽沒有到 turn a deaf ear to
It's no use. He turned a deaf ear to all my advices no matter how hard I've tried.
聽障 hearing impaired
現在不再說聾 deaf、 瞎 blind、 啞mute，而以更友善的hearing impaired, vision impaired, voice impaired來代替，即聽障，視障，言障

嗅覺：除了smell以外還有
嗅 /吸鼻涕/ 嗤之以鼻 sniff
Take a good sniff on this fresh mountain air.
The boy sniffed so loud that everyone laughed.
The judge sniffed at his cover song (翻唱曲), and asked him to sing an original song (原創曲) instead.

芳香 fine smell / fragrance / scent / aroma
芳香撲鼻 fine smell envelops the nose
envelop為「籠罩」, 「瀰漫」，和信封envelope只差一個字母。
The fine smell of the roast pork envelops my nose, what a treat!
惡臭 bad smell / stink
Given due time, one would become immune to a stinky environment.久而不聞其臭
異味 odor
odor也是令人不悅的味道，尤指異味，如body odor.
The pungent odor of the durians (刺鼻的榴槤異味) fills the room.
耳鼻喉科, 耳鼻喉科醫生rhinology, rhinologist
