🇯🇵 On September 14-15, the Japan-Taiwan Startup Summit was held by Startup Island TAIWAN. Our Founding Partner Akio T. along with Shinichi Takamiya (Globis Capital Partners, Managing Partner), David Weng (Taiwania Capital, CEO and General Partner of Tech Fund), and moderator Daisuke Sakamoto (Chiikizukan Co., Representative Director) joined to discuss the Taiwan-japan startup ecosystem.

🌍 The main topics revolved around understanding the differences in 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐮𝐩 𝐞𝐧𝐯𝐢𝐫𝐨𝐧𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 𝐛𝐞𝐭𝐰𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐓𝐚𝐢𝐰𝐚𝐧/𝐉𝐚𝐩𝐚𝐧 and how startups can collaborate to 𝐝𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐥𝐨𝐩 𝐚𝐧 𝐞𝐜𝐨𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦 𝐨𝐧 𝐚 𝐠𝐥𝐨𝐛𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐞.

Akio, who also opened the gala party, delved into how Headline Asia serves as the bridge connecting Taiwan's exceptional portfolio to Japan and how IVS continues to play a pivotal role in this journey. He also shed light on Taiwan's unique strengths, emphasizing its strong connections to Silicon Valley. Taiwanese startups leverage these ties, exemplified by founders like Jensen Huang, (founder and CEO of NVIDIA), and co-founders of Yahoo! and YouTube. Taiwanese startups have the strength to make the most of the connections they have and develop business not only in Asia but also in the center of Silicon Valley. This global perspective sets them apart, with many Taiwanese co-founders contributing to the success of major international companies.
